We are looking for an enthusiastic, professionally qualified librarian to join our successful and experienced Oxford Health LKS team delivering high quality and much valued library services to Oxford Health FT staff and stakeholders.

As an Outreach Librarian, you will work as a Knowledge Specialist and be part of the Oxford Health library and knowledge team offering information skills support and knowledge management services, delivering complex literature searches, designing and delivering information skills training using a range of media, via MS Teams or face to face, developing current awareness services and monitoring service effectiveness.

You must be prepared to make the best use of the electronic, physical and staff resources available, supporting teams and individuals in engaging with the evidence base and providing information consultancy for those unable to easily access NHS library services. Communicating and teamwork are essential for this post along with an imaginative approach to service delivery.

What we need from you
- A qualified librarian/knowledge specialist with significant experience in a professional library role having up-to-date relevant expertise to enable delivery of specified outreach services and with knowledge across key areas of knowledge management and the delivery of high-quality library services.
- Experience of supervision and line management with a good understanding of health policy and national NHS Library developments.
- A confident and knowledgeable communicator with an excellent understanding of IT, digital technologies and complex electronic library systems.
- A flexible and positive attitude, creative and responsive to make the most of opportunities to maintain existing high standards whilst enabling service improvement.
- A participator in professional interest groups and commitment to proactive ongoing professional development.

As an Assistant Library Manager you will support the Library Services Manager, in a range of activities in key roles which may include:
Leading, managing and developing the library team of professional/para-professional knowledge experts to ensure delivery of high-quality and efficient library services.

Deputising, including representing the Library Manager and the organisation in strategic library networks and other internal and external meetings and events.

Providing strategic and professional leadership for Trust library services, developing the collection management policy, overseeing library management systems and assets, ensuring quality standards are maintained including meeting standards required by external accreditation programmes, helping to devise strategic priorities for effective and efficient library services, compiling an annual report and managing library financial resources and procedures, including collation and analysis of activity statistics.

Overseeing marketing and education programmes to ensure equitable and comprehensive access to available resources, liaising with a range of partners and developing new partnerships and services, carrying out evaluations and participating in research activities.

Our team of experienced information professionals and paraprofessionals provides library services to all NHS staff and students of OHFT based in primary care, mental health and community settings, as well as Commissioners and Public Health professionals where agreements exist.
