About the role:

The Ideal candidate would be a time served Electrician and has a background of working on a wide range of electrical installation including containment, switchgear, Lighting & Emergency Lighting & Small Power installations, for this role as an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating and estimating the costs associated with electrical construction projects. Your primary role involves analysing project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine the materials, labour, and equipment required for successful project completion. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

* Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work.

* Analyse and interpret electrical design documents, including schematics and blueprints.

* Calculate material costs, labour costs, and overhead expenses to determine the overall project cost.

* Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for electrical construction projects.

* Work closely with procurement teams to obtain accurate pricing for materials and subcontractor services.

* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information for estimating.

* Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate pricing.

* Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties associated with the project.

* Develop contingency plans and alternative cost scenarios to address potential risks.

* Present cost estimates and proposals to clients and participate in bid meetings.

* Provide clarification and address queries related to the estimate.

* Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.

* Be computer literate.

* Have at least 1-2 Years Trimble Estimating software experience however we do provide training.

* Have a background of working on a wide range of commercial electrical installation including Switchgear, Containment, Small Power & Lighting installations and knowledge of Fire & Security works.

* Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

* Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

* Can prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage business expectations.

* Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.

* A legal right to work in the UK.

Qualifications:

* A background in Electrical Engineering, construction management, or related field.

* Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry.

* Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as Trimble Enterprise Estimating & Pro Design.

* Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
