Hours: 15 hours per week must be flexible as hours may vary and this will include some evenings and weekends.

Duration: This post is fixed term for 1 year. Lived/Living experience applicants welcome.

Purpose of the role: Your main role will be to help deliver engaging, inspirational, and effective street soccer sessions across West Dunbartonshire. You will identify the needs of individual groups and tailor your delivery as appropriate. It is essential to create a highly professional environment for each session, and always adhere to safeguarding guidelines. You will work closely with children, young people, their families, and any relevant partners, to ensure they are informed and supported to participate in any programmes, and any other community-based activities.

Youth / Outreach Worker Duties

• Provide outreach support which includes delivering outreach services in the West Dunbartonshire area, maintaining a whole family approach.

• Provide specialised community outreach initiatives, alternative activities, and remote guidance to aid the community.

• Develop Training Programs: Create and implement training sessions to improve players’ skills and physical fitness.

• Strategize: Plan and execute game strategies and tactics.

• Analyse Performance: Monitor and analyse players’ performances during games and training sessions, providing feedback and areas for improvement.

• Team Management: Maintain discipline, resolve conflicts, and promote sportsmanship and team spirit.

• Recruitment: Scout and recruit new players for the team.

• Communication: Effectively communicate with players, parents, officials, and other coaches.

• Plan and implement activities to ensure the service is informed by the voices of children, young people and families so we understand their needs and how we can improve our services.

• Work flexibly across the local community and other locations as required, including occasional evenings and weekends.

• Involve children, young people, and their families in suitable interventions that build robust, affirmative relationships and promote involvement in imaginative and growth-oriented activities.

• Gather crucial information to meet local surveillance demands. - mapping of the area.

• Provide support and delivery across all projects within the organisation.

• Work with colleagues to deliver an effective service in line with stakeholder needs, policies & procedures, and budget parameters.

• Safeguard the health & welfare of all children, young people and their families.

• To keep up-to-date records, files (chronological reporting, visit and contact reports, Outreach files, accident / incident forms etc.) and paperwork for activities ensuring monitoring and evaluation procedures are adhered to.

• Prepare and present reports and case studies where appropriate.

• Work with, supervise and support children and young people at all times making sure that safety procedures are followed conforming to the project’s Child Protection and Health & Safety policies and other relevant policies and complete any appropriate reports e.g., accident / incident forms.

• Preparation and clearing up of activities/areas.

• Contribute to joint working and partnership working ensuring positive relationships with all concerned.

• Attend training and meetings as requested.

• To liaise with parents, carers, professionals and partnership agencies.

• Collaborate closely and follow guidance from the Street Soccer Scotland network coach.

• Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Project Manager and West Dunbartonshire Recovery Co-ordinator
