Mental Health and Justice Practice Supervisor

Essex County Council is seeking a highly experienced Senior Social Worker to join our award-winning Emotional Wellbeing and Youth Justice project. As a Mental Health and Justice Practice Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering case supervision, holding a caseload of complex cases, and carrying out quality assurance activities to develop innovative, sustainable methods of intervention.

About the Role

The Mental Health and Justice Practice Supervisor will work in a multi-agency environment, across 3 local authorities, building strong partnerships and collaborating with children's mental health services, Youth Justice Service, children's social care, and other agencies. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing case work supervision and holding a caseload of complex cases
  • Carrying out quality assurance activities and measuring success of interventions through outcomes
  • Developing a whole family approach, signposting to relevant agencies and the voluntary sector
  • Contribute to identifying unmet need around children and young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health, leading to whole system change
  • Developing and delivering bespoke upskill programmes across the system
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Social Worker with a professional qualification in social work, evidence of excellent practice in casework, recording, and assessment. You will have a proven ability to work within an evidence-informed framework, with knowledge and understanding of criminogenic factors, causing young people to offend. You will also have experience of building strong partnerships, developing and delivering bespoke training and consultancy, and being a catalyst for change early in young people's lives.

What We Offer

Essex County Council offers a competitive salary, a range of benefits, and a supportive working environment. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team, make a real difference to children and young people's lives, and contribute to the development of innovative, sustainable methods of intervention.

We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds. We are also committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees, and offer a range of benefits and support to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance.
