Job Description: Therapeutic Outdoor Education Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Therapeutic Outdoor Education Specialist to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering outdoor education programs for students with SEMH needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and adaptable practitioner to work with a talented team of educators who are passionate about providing inclusive and therapeutic education. You will be responsible for leading on the development of the outdoor education curriculum, providing support to pupils, teachers, and the school, and facilitating various outdoor activities such as Forest School, hill walking, water sports, and camping expeditions.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children with complex needs, particularly those with high anxiety, social and emotional mental health needs, and autism. You will work closely with individuals and groups to support learning activities and develop behavior for learning. You will also lead assigned groups and use your specialist knowledge to support pupils with their individual targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver outdoor education programs for students with SEMH needs
  • Lead on the development of the outdoor education curriculum
  • Provide support to pupils, teachers, and the school
  • Facilitate various outdoor activities such as Forest School, hill walking, water sports, and camping expeditions
  • Work closely with individuals and groups to support learning activities and develop behavior for learning

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
