Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Haematopathology to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service (HODS), you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of haematological malignancies.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting bone marrow trephine biopsies, lymph node biopsies, and other relevant solid tissue samples in the context of a Specialist Integrated Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (SIHMDS). You will work closely with our established team of consultant, scientific, and technical staff to support the diagnosis and management of haematological malignancies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting haematopathology specimens, including bone marrow trephine biopsies, lymph node biopsies, and other relevant solid tissue samples
  • Experience of multimodality haematopathology testing, including molecular assays
  • Interactive approach to working with clinical, laboratory, and academic colleagues

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Full registration with the GMC
  • CCT in Histopathology or within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview
  • Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in English
