Children and Young People Mental Health Specialist

This is a key and fast-paced position in a busy community CAMHS team. The post holder will be required to undertake initial assessments for children and young people referred into the service, ensuring safeguarding, risk management, and care planning are implemented to the highest standard. The role involves working with a diverse case load of young people with complex emotional needs, requiring significant attention to detail particularly around risk management in the community. The post holder will coordinate and work with external agencies such as social care and education, and have the opportunity to co-facilitate groups and treatment alongside multidisciplinary team colleagues to offer evidence-based care.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct initial assessments for children and young people referred to the service
- Provide ongoing direct intervention and support
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary case formulation and care planning
- Deliver group interventions and represent CAMHS in professional forums
- Work within legal and policy frameworks to ensure effective patient-centred care
- Registered Professional Qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or a related discipline
- NMC, HPC, or Social Work England Registration
- Post Basic Courses and Study Days
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and a professional portfolio
