Children and Young People Mental Health Specialist

This is a key and fast-paced position in a busy community CAMHS team. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking initial assessments for children and young people referred to the service, ensuring safeguarding, risk management, and care planning are implemented to the highest standard. The role requires significant attention to detail, particularly around risk management in the community, and coordination with external agencies such as social care and education.
The post offers a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions) and the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct initial assessments for children and young people referred to the service
- Participate in multi-disciplinary case formulation and care planning
- Deliver group interventions and represent CAMHS in professional forums and complex networks
- Work within legal and policy frameworks
- Registered Professional Qualification
- NMC, HPC or Social Work England Registration
- Post Basic Courses / Study Days
- Evidence of CPD and professional portfolio
- Experience of working with people with mental health problems
- Understanding and contribution to the Clinical Governance Agenda
- Previous experience in a similar role
Permanent position with a salary of £35,392 to £42,618 a year pro-rata for part-time work. Flexible working arrangements available.
