Residential Childcare Support Professional

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. The successful candidate will be working with young people, promoting their resilience, self-esteem, and abilities. The role is a wonderful opportunity to make a significant impact on a young person's life and contribute to our organization's mission.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting daily routines, including personal hygiene, meals, and activities
- Developing life skills and independence, promoting socialization, and supporting bedtime routines
- Attending medical and other appointments
- Completing day sheets and working with young people on their targets
- Completing handover documents and tasks
- Completing daily paperwork and budgeting requirements
- Conducting daily room checks and housecleaning tasks
- Completing food and other shopping needs, including meal preparation and kitchen hygiene/laundry duties
- Liaising with families, working to find out about special dates and events
Requirements:
- Flexibility in availability for sleep-in nights and shift work
- Understanding of the issues facing young people in care
- Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Be willing to learn and work as part of a small team
- Be willing to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level
- Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work would be advantageous
- Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other Residential Homes
