We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our services based in Carlisle. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the home is running smoothly, providing high-quality care and support to young people.

Job Description

Residential Deputy Manager

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting. They will have excellent communication and leadership skills, be able to work well under pressure and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the home
  • Leading a team of staff to deliver high-quality care and support
  • Managing budgets and resources effectively
  • Providing regular supervision and appraisal for staff
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the home meets all regulatory requirements
  • Working closely with colleagues to achieve the aims and objectives of North Lakes Children’s Services

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification in childcare or social work, such as a Diploma in Residential Childcare or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work well under pressure and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.

Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting, is essential. A full driving licence and ability to travel between locations are also required.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £48,000-£52,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, the successful candidate will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • A sleep-in allowance of £90 per night
  • Shift rotation: days on, days off, with staggered start times ranging from 8am, 12noon or 4pm
  • 28 days annual leave entitlement
