Infant Feeding Service Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Care Practitioner to join our team at the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. This Band 6 post offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality care and support to neonates and their families, ensuring optimal outcomes.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional clinical practice, leadership, and quality improvement initiatives. They will work collaboratively with various agencies, influencing policies that enhance health, and supporting birth parents in initiating and maximising lactation and progressing to responsive oral feeds.
The Neonatal Care Practitioner will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic care linked to individual service users in relation to infant feeding following frenulotomy. They will also identify and support babies and families with unmet health needs, including jaundice and faltering weight.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high standard of care, meeting the needs of families and babies within our care.
- Contribute to service and policy review and development of frenulotomy protocols and guidance.
- Lead on and participate in clinical audits, resolving complaints within the clinical specialty.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Evidence of personal development and transferable skills relevant to the job description.
- Understanding of current issues affecting the NHS and BFI.
- Experience of initiating and participating in clinical audit and research.
- Current NMC registration.
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate development at Level 6.
We offer a competitive salary of £44,766 - £70,408 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including annual leave, pension scheme, and life assurance.
