About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at North Hertfordshire College. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement effective strategies to support students with diverse additional learning needs, promoting independence and tailoring support to individual needs.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering outstanding teaching and learning, including the use of specialist assistive technology.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the setting and monitoring of individual targets.
- Provide support with study skills, pastoral needs, and community access to ensure students successfully navigate challenges and progress to their aspirational destination.
Requirements
- Experience of working with vulnerable young people who have SEND, including Neurodiversity and Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
- Commitment to improving opportunities for young people with SEND, especially in areas of independence, health, and well-being.
- Proven communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills with the capacity to motivate others.
- High levels of personal integrity and confidentiality.
