About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at North Hertfordshire College. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, including those with Neurodiversity and Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering outstanding teaching and learning, including the use of specialist assistive technology.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, contributing to the setting and monitoring of individual targets.
  • Support students in developing study skills, pastoral needs, and community access.
  • Assist with personal care, aid mobility, administer medication, and provide support with individual arrangements for students with complex needs.

  • Experience working with vulnerable young people with SEND.
  • Commitment to improving opportunities for young people with SEND.
  • Proven communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • High levels of personal integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt and develop creative methods to engage young people.
