Position Overview

The role involves the research, provision, and analysis of critical data that informs Category Sourcing Strategies and tactical procurement decisions. This includes examining spend data, market trends, supplier information, and product service data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive estimating database to forecast future spending patterns and opportunities.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process flow for individual components.
  • Conduct research and analysis to predict costs associated with materials, transportation, labor, and equipment across various geographic regions.
  • Build and sustain relationships with suppliers to gather essential market intelligence.
  • Assist procurement specialists in evaluating supplier quotes and contractor bids within designated timelines.
  • Evaluate project risk levels effectively.
  • Support bid preparation for new contracts and assist procurement activities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or the Aerospace industry.
  • A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Physics.
  • Strong interest or proficiency in global economic principles.
  • Excellent analytical and forecasting capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret Aerospace engineering drawings and formulate cost estimates.
  • Skilled in data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.
  • High mathematical proficiency.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure to achieve goals, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, databases, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A methodical and logical approach to tasks.
  • Effective planning and deadline management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Desirable

  • Experience with SAP systems.
  • Understanding of Category Management principles.
  • Knowledge of Project Management practices.
  • Experience in Stakeholder Management.

Travel Expectations

  • Occasional regional travel may be required.
  • Infrequent global travel may also be necessary.
