Position Overview

The role involves conducting research, providing, and analyzing data that informs Category Sourcing Strategies and tactical procurement decisions. This includes evaluating spend data, market insights, supplier and supply chain information, product specifications, service details, and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining an estimating database to forecast future spending patterns and opportunities.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process flow for individual components.
  • Researching, monitoring, and forecasting costs associated with materials, transportation, labor, and equipment based on geographic factors.
  • Building and sustaining relationships with suppliers to gather market intelligence.
  • Assisting procurement teams in evaluating supplier and contractor quotes within designated timelines.
  • Evaluating project risk levels.
  • Supporting bid proposals for new contracts and aiding procurement activities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or the Aerospace sector.
  • A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Physics.
  • A strong interest or proficiency in global economic principles.
  • Analytical and forecasting capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret Aerospace engineering drawings and formulate cost estimates.
  • Competence in analyzing, modeling, and interpreting data.
  • High mathematical proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to achieve goals, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, databases, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A methodical and logical approach to tasks.
  • Effective planning and time management skills.
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Desirable

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Understanding of Category Management.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • Experience in Stakeholder Management.
