Job Description

Arrow Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Harlow, UK. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the accuracy of our General Ledger, completing month-end financial close procedures, and preparing internal reports for Europe and the US head office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control and manage the accuracy of General Ledger for assigned Arrow companies.
  • Complete all relevant month-end financial close procedures, including necessary accruals and prepayments activities.
  • Prepare and be responsible for all necessary internal reporting required within Europe and to US head office.
  • Facilitate and restructure accounting and control processes.
  • Carry out relevant Sarbanes Oxley controls.
  • Hedge and revalue assets.
  • Support headcount reporting, control, and forecasting.
  • Prepare statutory accounting and corporation tax work.
  • Conduct statutory/corporate reconciliations and European consolidation.
  • Control and prepare VAT, Intrastat, and Sales List Reporting, submission of VAT Returns, and related compliance.
  • Support and be involved with all audit work.
  • Manage the fixed asset register and all relevant accounting, liaising with accounts payable clerks and other business areas as needed.
  • Prepare necessary variance analysis for all the above.
  • Support other accountants within the team on various tasks to meet the total needs of the finance department.
  • Develop new/efficient processes/procedures within the accounting team.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Accounting Manager on projects and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Manage other staff as appropriate.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in all-round accounting.
  • Very good knowledge of general accounting and reporting processes.
  • Fluent English and Spanish language skills.
  • Experience with making accruals, prepayments, VAT, balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
  • Results-driven individual.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Task prioritization skills.
