An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Speech and Language Therapy Department at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to provide specialist services to patients with neurological conditions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with complex communication and swallowing disorders, and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Main Duties
- To provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to patients with neurological conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
- To work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, including contributing to the development of individualized care plans and participating in multidisciplinary meetings.
- To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, and to contribute to the development of quality improvement initiatives.
- To provide education and training to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing disorders, and to contribute to the development of educational resources.
- To participate in research and quality improvement initiatives, and to contribute to the development of new treatments and interventions for patients with neurological conditions.

Person Specification
The successful candidate will have a recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy, and will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
They will have significant relevant specialist clinical experience of working with patients with communication difficulties and dysphagia, and will be competent in the assessment and management of tracheostomy.
They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, and empathy skills, and will be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
