Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Stroke Team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust. As a specialist in communication and swallowing disorders, you will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments and rehabilitation to adults with complex needs.

Main Duties:

Deliver specialist assessment and rehabilitation services to adults with communication and swallowing disorders following stroke.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Core responsibilities include coordinating student placements, delivering education and training packages, and supervising junior therapists.

Working for Our Organisation:

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Speech and Language Therapy Department provides a service to both Stroke and non-stroke patients. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, and Clinical Psychologists to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

Our team meets regularly for departmental meetings and peer supervision, and the QEH is affiliated with the University of East Anglia, providing training placements for student SLTs and other healthcare professionals.

Person Specification:

  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Current Health & Care Professions Council registration.
  • Membership of RCSLT.
  • Evidence of successful completion of postgraduate study in dysphagia and relevant highly specialist short courses.
  • Experience in delivering education and training packages, supervising undergraduate SLTs, and working in a community setting.
