Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Community Garden Support Specialist. As a key member of our Care Farm team, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering adults with learning disabilities to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and empower adults with learning disabilities to develop their practical skills and confidence in organic growing and hard landscaping.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Care Farm offer, working closely with the Care Farm Manager and other team members to ensure a high-quality service.
- Work collaboratively with the team to create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being and independence of our service users.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community groups and organizations to promote the work of the Care Farm and increase its impact.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of outdoor sessions and activities, ensuring they are tailored to the needs and abilities of our service users.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Care Farm program, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change.
Requirements:
- Experience in organic growing and hard landscaping, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices of sustainable gardening.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the Care Farm program.
