Scottish Friendly is seeking an experienced Development Actuary (With-Profits) to join our Actuarial Department in Glasgow City Centre. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the development of our financial management approach, with a focus on the with-profits funds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the actuarial function and With-Profits Actuary in developing our approach to operating the with-profits funds for the benefit of all Society members.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure successful delivery of our forward-looking strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Actuarial and Finance functions to ensure efficient management of the with-profits funds.
  • Support ongoing activity relating to the financial management of the with-profits fund, including strategic initiatives, run-off plans, and financial management frameworks.
  • Produce proposals relevant to the financial management of with-profits business, such as bonus recommendations and annual reports.
Requirements:
  • Experience in life insurance, with a strong working knowledge of with-profits and their operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • RAFM modelling and SQL experience preferred, but not essential.
