We're seeking an experienced individual to join our Actuarial Department as a Development Actuary (With-Profits). Based in Glasgow City Centre, you'll be part of a dynamic team that's driving innovation and growth in the life insurance sector.

As a Development Actuary, you'll play a key role in supporting the development of our financial management approach, with a focus on the with-profits funds. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver our forward-looking strategy and collaborate with the Actuarial and Finance functions to ensure the efficient management of the with-profits funds.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting strategic initiatives, including M&A and with-profits transformation activity
  • Developing and enhancing run-off plans for relevant funds
  • Embedding a financial management framework for all with-profits sub-funds
  • Maintaining with-profits miscellaneous surplus distribution policy and excess surplus distribution policy
  • Producing proposals relevant to the financial management of with-profits business
  • Liaising with other departments, including IT, Pricing, and Risk
  • Attending Executive and Board level committees as required

To succeed in this role, you'll need a good working knowledge of life insurance products, including with-profits and their operations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. RAFM modelling and SQL experience are preferred but not essential.
