About the Role

We are seeking an experienced life insurance professional or recently qualified actuary to join our Actuarial Department as a Development Actuary (With-Profits). This is a unique opportunity to support the development of our society's strategy and contribute to the efficient management of our with-profits funds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the ongoing financial management of our with-profits fund, including strategic initiatives, run-off plans, and financial management frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain policies for with-profits miscellaneous and excess surplus distributions.
  • Improve processes and efficiency, and contribute to capital initiatives.
  • Produce proposals for bonus recommendations, changes to product features, and annual reports on compliance.
  • Liaise with other departments, including IT, Pricing, and Risk, and attend executive and board-level committees as required.
Requirements
  • Experience in life insurance, with a good working knowledge of with-profits products and operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
  • RAFM modelling and SQL experience preferred, but not essential.
