Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Support Specialist to join our team at an outstanding primary school in Washington. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Salary: £75-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

The Support Specialist will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment, implementing individualised support plans and strategies to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs in academic and personal development
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualised support plans
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions among students
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess prior experience as a Support Specialist or in a similar position, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Support Specialist or in a similar role
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Social, Emotional and Mental Health support
