About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to students who face barriers to their learning due to emotional and social difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
- Support students in developing their unique strengths and challenges.
- Provide a supportive and engaging learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualification in education or support work (desirable but not essential).
