About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to develop tailored learning plans that address the specific needs of each student with Special Education Needs.
  • Provide individual and small group interventions to help students improve their learning outcomes.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students in developing their academic and social skills.
  • Encourage positive interactions and model appropriate behaviour.
  • Work alongside classroom teachers to implement learning strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and any interventions used, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure students receive comprehensive support by collaborating with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of students and their families.

Requirements:

  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in an SEN setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
