**Job Title:** SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary)
**Location:** Washington
**Pay Rate:** £75-£110 per day (Depending on experience)
**Contract:** Daily Supply, Long Term
We are currently collaborating with an outstanding primary school in Washington that is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualised support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
- Implementing strategies to promote positive interactions and manage classroom behaviour.
- Assisting students with their academic and personal development, and monitoring their progress and well-being.
- Working closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
Applicants should have prior experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff is essential, as is patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. Relevant qualifications or training in Social, Emotional and Mental Health support are desirable but not essential.
