Co-Founder in Residence for Zero Emission Steel Innovation

Deep Science Ventures is seeking a visionary Co-Founder in Residence to spearhead the development of groundbreaking technologies for zero emission steel production. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a pioneering team and contribute to a mission that has the potential to revolutionize the steel industry.
About the RoleWe are looking for an entrepreneurial individual with a strong background in metallurgical engineering, materials science, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of state-of-the-art technologies and constraints in steel processing, as well as experience in building and scaling new technologies from concept to demonstration.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and commercialize novel electrochemical and/or thermochemical cell and reactor design for zero emission steel production
- Collaborate with the DSV team and industry partners to identify and address key challenges in steelmaking
- Lead the development of a comprehensive outcomes graph to guide the creation of a fully compatible steel plant with intermittent renewable electricity and heat
- Work closely with the DSV team to secure pre-seed investment and establish a new company
- Access to optimized, purpose-built tools, resources, and processes to help create high-impact ventures from scratch
- Opportunity area-specific know-how from our network of Partners and Advisors
- Up to £250k in investment to incorporate the new venture and develop early proof-of-concept data
- Guaranteed income of £4,166 per month paid as a consultancy fee until the company is launched and the pre-seed investment is secured
- Majority equity stake in the new company for you and your co-founders
