About the Position

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking an experienced leader to join its Children's Services team as a Head of Home. This role involves leading and managing a dedicated team to provide high-quality residential care services that meet the needs of children and young people.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in residential management, with a strong background in leadership and team management. A Level 5 qualification in Children's Residential Management is also essential.

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum.

Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a culture of professional practice and excellence in performance among managerial and senior residential social work staff.
  2. Drive continuous improvements in performance and care quality by collaborating closely with the Head of Service and other team members.
  3. Provide management cover for Team Managers when needed, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  4. Represent the service at external events and contribute to internal working groups, panels, or projects as required.
  5. Manage financial resources responsibly, ensuring sound business planning and effective financial oversight to support long-term sustainability.
