About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recovery Worker to join our team at Hestia Housing Support. As a Recovery Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health and complex needs to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service User Support: Provide one-to-one support to service users, empowering them to engage effectively with professionals and access community resources.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure service coverage and meet contractual obligations.
  • Group Activities: Develop and lead co-produced group activities, peer support networks, and community-based approaches to promote service user empowerment.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor and ensure the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of service users and staff, following up on concerns promptly and in line with procedures.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate and detailed records, ensuring confidentiality and timely completion of administrative tasks.
  • Property Management: Assist in managing health and safety, repairs, and maintenance of the premises, as well as collecting rents and service charges.
  • Referrals and Assessments: Ensure effective and timely referrals, assessments, and service reviews.
  • Move-on Support: Empower service users to develop independent living skills as part of a planned move-on process.
Requirements
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience of working with individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation, crisis management, and communication strategies.
  • Recovery Approach: Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative, and oversee induction of new peer staff and volunteers.
  • Statutory Services: Ability to work with statutory services, such as the NHS, at the front line.
  • Health and Safety: Awareness of health and safety issues.
  • IT Skills: Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and the internet.
  • Literacy and Numeracy: Good literacy and numeracy skills, able to produce clear written correspondence.
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
