About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Specialist Recovery Worker to join our Mental Health Crisis Alternatives service at Hestia. As a Specialist Recovery Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises in South London.

Our service operates in the evenings, at weekends, and bank holidays to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to develop coping skills, build resilience, and focus on their strengths.

The successful candidate will have experience working with individuals who have experienced mental health difficulties, knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation, and a commitment to empowering service users to make choices and take control of their mental health.

Purpose of the Role

  • Motivate service users to identify causes of crises and develop strategies to prevent future crises.
  • Develop and implement individual safety plans to proactively manage mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide one-to-one sessions with service users to support them in developing their own wellness and recovery action plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with statutory providers and other voluntary sector agencies to ensure seamless support and treatment for service users.
  • Actively participate in continued professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health support.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits, support, and interventions provided.
