About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Crisis Specialist to join our team at Hestia Housing Support.

This role will involve working with individuals who are experiencing or at risk of a mental health crisis, providing them with the necessary support and guidance to develop coping skills, build resilience, and focus on their strengths.

As a Recovery Worker - Crisis Alternatives, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health Crisis Alternatives service, working closely with service users to identify causes of crises and develop strategies to prevent them in the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Motivate service users to identify causes of crises and develop safety plans to proactively manage their mental health and wellbeing.
  • Carry out individual one-to-one sessions with service users to support them in developing their own wellness and recovery action plans.
  • Liaise effectively with statutory providers and other voluntary sector agencies involved in the support and treatment of service users.
  • Actively participate in continued professional development to support service users with a range of mental health issues.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation, including the Care Program Approach (CPA) processes.
  • Understanding of the principles of recovery and a range of recovery approaches.
  • Ability to work at evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and the internet.
