About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Technical Consultant to join our team at Ricardo plc. As a key member of our waste infrastructure and technology team, you will play a crucial role in providing technical advice and expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to clients on waste treatment processes and technologies.
  • Project Management: Manage projects and liaise with clients to deliver high-quality results.
  • Document Review: Review and provide feedback on process and engineering documents.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to assist clients in making informed investment decisions.
  • Design Documentation: Produce basis of design documentation and technical specifications.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Review facilities and technologies to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, legislative requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor junior engineers to ensure their professional development.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other consultants and engineers to deliver projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree-qualified engineer with broad technical capabilities in process, mechanical, electrical, or other engineering fields.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel for project delivery, including within Europe and the Middle East.
  • Technical Expertise: Good knowledge of waste treatment processes and technologies, ideally with hands-on experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Remain up to date with waste industry developments, trends, legislation, and best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to mentor and support the development of junior engineers.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver high-quality results.
