About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Safety & Reliability Engineer to join our team at Matchtech, supporting the aerospace sector. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in guiding reliability and safety engineering within multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring that engineering designs adhere to safety, maintainability, and reliability standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Optimise System and Product Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compliant system architectures, ensuring that designs meet safety and reliability standards.
  2. Develop Safety and System-Level Architecture Requirements: Provide analysis and data for new product introduction projects, investigating in-service failures and supporting the Product Integrity Committee (PIC) and Product Safety Board (PSB).
  3. Specify Reliability and Safety Requirements: Derive system designs from safety requirements and recommend design changes, ensuring that reliability and safety standards are met.
  4. Provide Technical Expertise: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on reliability and safety across projects, ensuring that technical expertise is shared across the team.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Reliability and Safety Engineering: Engineers/mathematics background with expertise in reliability and safety engineering, including knowledge of current aerospace standards and certification requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), with a good understanding of mechanical and electronic engineering.
