We are seeking an experienced Electronic Customer Support Engineer to join our team at Jackie Kerr Recruitment Ltd. As an Electronic Customer Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers, ensuring their equipment is operational and correctly configured, and resolving any faults or issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to customers on site and remotely
  • Ensure customers have a single point of contact for after-sales support
  • Ensure customers' equipment is operational and correctly configured
  • Raise any faults or issues and request returns for investigation, track all faults to conclusion
  • Assist in pre- and post-visit equipment maintenance and software configurations
  • Record the allocation of units, helping customers to organize spare units
  • Perform ad-hoc production duties, including building and assembling mechanical and electronic equipment, using heat guns, crimping, and soldering pins
  • Support the production team in quality checking and testing products before dispatch
Requirements
  • Good communication skills, including concise, clear, timely, and appropriate media usage
  • Knowledge and/or experience with electronics and electronic technologies (HW and SW)
  • Understanding of Ethernet networks and fibre optic converters
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, including wiring schematics
  • Basic working knowledge of multimeters, preferably including oscilloscopes
  • Ability to read and write detailed technical reports
  • IT literacy in Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Comfortable traveling to customer sites in the UK and abroad
  • Hold a driving license and a valid passport
Working Hours and Benefits
  • Monday to Friday: 09:00 - 17:30
  • Subject to change, including evenings and weekends (paid at a premium)
  • Offer £300 a weekend for a full weekend at a race track extra to their salary plus a day off in lieu
