Electronics Customer Support Engineer/Production

EM Motorsport is a leading electronic design and manufacture company that supplies equipment and systems to high-end Motorsport series and race circuits. We are seeking a flexible and conscientious Electronics Customer Support Engineer/Production to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide after-sales support to customers on site and remotely, ensuring seamless communication and efficient issue resolution.
  • Assist in the pre and post-visit equipment maintenance and software configuration, ensuring optimal product performance.
  • Record the allocation of units and help customers organize spare unit allocation, ensuring timely and efficient support.
  • Prepare reports for sharing with colleagues, including issues and achievements, to facilitate knowledge sharing and improvement.
  • Track faults and provide feedback for in-house development tests, ensuring continuous product improvement.
Requirements:
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of electronic technologies, including hardware and software, to provide effective support and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Ethernet networks and fibre optic converters to ensure seamless integration and support.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and write detailed technical reports, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
  • Experience with tools associated with wiring and procedural knowledge to perform duties efficiently.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, anticipating and resolving issues before they escalate.
  • Good computer literacy, with familiarity with MS Windows/Office packages and network resources, to ensure efficient communication and support.
  • Approachable and amenable, with a welcoming attitude towards customer and colleague communications.
Production Responsibilities:
  • Build and assemble products manufactured in-house, ensuring high-quality and efficient production.
  • Perform small mechanical activities, such as drilling and cutting out shapes on aluminium or steel sheeting, to support production.
  • Wiring devices by following wiring diagrams or demonstrations from team members, ensuring accurate and efficient assembly.
  • Assemble connectors with crimping pins or soldering pins, ensuring secure and reliable connections.
  • Use a heat gun to produce cables and looms, ensuring high-quality and efficient production.
  • Test final products, ensuring quality and reliability before despatch.
Requirements for Production:
  • Basic working knowledge of multimeters (preferably Oscilloscope) to support production and testing.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics to ensure accurate and efficient assembly and testing.
  • IT literacy in Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook to ensure efficient communication and support.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality products.
  • Organized, tidy, and conscientious, with the ability to work independently and under supervision.
