Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist Role

At Latcom plc, we are seeking a skilled Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects focused on achieving biodiversity net gain. Key responsibilities include building relationships with local authorities and conservation organizations, collaborating with other professionals to integrate biodiversity into projects, and preparing technical reports for planning submissions and habitat management plans. Additionally, the candidate will stay informed about emerging trends in biodiversity conservation and planning policy, and mentor and support junior staff in understanding biodiversity planning processes. The ideal candidate will have a degree in environmental science, ecology, planning, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on biodiversity. Strong understanding of biodiversity legislation and policies, proven experience in managing biodiversity net gain projects, and familiarity with ecological principles, habitat assessments, and species surveys are also essential. Proficiency in planning software like GIS and ecological modeling tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite, is required.
