At Latcom Plc, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Biodiversity Specialist to lead our Net Gain Project Management team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and at least 5 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on biodiversity net gain.

The successful applicant will manage projects focused on achieving biodiversity net gain, build relationships with local authorities and conservation organizations, collaborate with other professionals to integrate biodiversity into projects, prepare technical reports for planning submissions and habitat management plans, and stay informed about emerging trends in biodiversity conservation and planning policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects focused on achieving biodiversity net gain
  • Build relationships with local authorities and conservation organizations
  • Collaborate with other professionals to integrate biodiversity into projects
  • Prepare technical reports for planning submissions and habitat management plans
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in biodiversity conservation and planning policy

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in environmental science, ecology, planning, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on biodiversity
  • Strong understanding of biodiversity legislation and policies
  • Proven experience in managing biodiversity net gain projects and using tools like the Statutory Metric
  • Familiarity with ecological principles, habitat assessments, and species surveys
  • Experience working with government bodies and local authorities
  • Proficiency in planning software like GIS and ecological modeling tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite

We offer a competitive salary of around £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including a generous pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
