Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant

Academics is seeking a skilled and empathetic individual to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to support students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to develop the skills and strategies they need to succeed in school.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and patience when working with challenging behavior. While experience in youth work or teaching is desirable, it is not essential. If you are passionate about helping vulnerable children achieve calm and regulated moods, we encourage you to apply.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time, permanent position available immediately.
  • The salary for this role is £28,000 - £40,000 per annum, based on 85-120 per day rate.
  • The working hours are 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • We offer flexible start dates, including ASAP or January starts, depending on your circumstances.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in a mainstream educational setting.
  • Assist with self-regulation activities and provide emotional support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
