SEMH Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Academics is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to fill the role of SEMH Teaching Assistant. In this position, you will have the opportunity to support students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to develop calm and regulated moods.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and patience when working with challenging behavior. While experience in youth work or teaching is desirable, it is not essential. If you are passionate about making a difference in education, we encourage you to apply.

About the Job:

  • This is a full-time, permanent position available immediately.
  • The salary for this role is £28,000 - £40,000 per annum, based on 85-120 per day rate.
  • The working hours are 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • We offer flexible start dates, including ASAP or January starts, depending on your circumstances.

Job Requirements:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in a mainstream educational setting.
  • Assist with self-regulation activities and provide emotional support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
