SEMH Teaching Assistant - Hemel Hempstead

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team at Academics as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on young people's lives, supporting students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a mainstream educational setting.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and patience when working with challenging behavior. Experience in youth work or teaching is desirable but not essential. If you are passionate about helping vulnerable children achieve calm and regulated moods, we encourage you to apply.

About the Position:

  • This is a full-time, permanent position available immediately.
  • The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £40,000 per annum, based on 85-120 per day rate.
  • The working hours are 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • We offer flexible start dates, including ASAP or January starts, depending on your circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and assistance with self-regulation activities to students with SEMH needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.
