Key Responsibilities

As an Emergency Service Officer, you will play a vital role in enabling residents to remain living independently in their own homes. You will coordinate a rapid response service to ensure the efficient provision of emergency and urgent personal care welfare visits to South Gloucestershire residents.

What You Will Be Doing

  • You will review, assess, and implement emergency personal care packages for new and existing service users, promoting independence and delivering a high standard of personalised care.
  • You will coordinate an immediate response to Telecare and Carer's emergencies, utilising your specialist knowledge, skills, and experience to respond to complex situations.
  • You will assess service users with complex needs in emergency situations out of hours, compiling and implementing short-term care packages to be reviewed by the appropriate daytime services.
  • You will ensure that all responders in your team have a Care Certificate where necessary and that all are up to date with supervisions, team meetings, and training.

Requirements

  • You must have a recognised and relevant professional qualification, such as a Dip Social Work, NVQ 4 in Social Care (with management components), and be registered with the appropriate authority where applicable.
  • You will have knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • You may also have knowledge of the processes and procedures of an emergency response team.

Working Arrangements

You will be required to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area, so you must have a full valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or alternative appropriate means of travel.

Rate of Pay

£17.59 per hour.
