Job Title: Climate and Nature Emergency Project Manager

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Climate and Nature Emergency Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and managing partnership and delivery projects as part of our response to the Climate and Nature Emergency Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and delivery of projects and programmes to achieve the Council's Climate and Nature Emergency Plan objectives.
  • Work closely with services across the council, partners, and stakeholders to manage and deliver work priorities and projects.
  • Manage project development, delivery, and operational oversight, including finance, procurement, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Represent the Council at Officer level and signpost best practice and funding opportunities to achieve the Council's commitments.
  • Prepare reports for decisions and make presentations to Council, Committee, Officer, and external meetings.
Requirements:
  • Relevant professional environmental qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in policy/strategy development, project management, and partnership working.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of the application of relevant policy and practice in relation to carbon management, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and communicate complex data and technical information.
  • Experience of planning and managing multidisciplinary projects and project teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
