Job Title: Climate and Nature Emergency Project Manager

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Climate and Nature Emergency Project. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and managing partnership and delivery projects to achieve our Climate and Nature Emergency Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage partnership and delivery projects to achieve our Climate and Nature Emergency Plan.
  • Work closely with services across the council, partners, and stakeholders to manage and deliver work priorities and projects.
  • Provide operational oversight on behalf of internal and partner Project Boards, oversee finance, procurement, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Manage consultants and other contractors to inform development and delivery of projects.
  • Represent the Council at Officer level and signpost best practice and funding opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Relevant professional environmental qualification or equivalent.
  • Equivalent relevant professional experience in policy/strategy development, project management, and partnership working.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of relevant policy and practice in relation to carbon management, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and communicate complex data and technical information.
  • Experience of planning and managing multidisciplinary projects and project teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
