About the Role
As an Emergency Service Officer with South Gloucestershire Council, you will play a vital role in enabling residents to remain living independently in their own homes. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate an efficient response service, ensuring the timely provision of emergency and urgent personal care welfare visits to residents in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, assess, and implement emergency personal care packages for new and existing service users, promoting independence and delivering high-quality, personalized care.
- Coordinate an immediate response to Telecare and Carer's emergencies, utilizing your specialist knowledge, skills, and experience to respond to complex situations.
- Assess service users with complex needs in emergency situations, out of hours, and compile and implement short-term care packages for review by day-time services.
- Ensure all responders in your team have a Care Certificate, where necessary, and are up-to-date with supervisions, team meetings, and training.
Requirements
- You must have a recognized and relevant professional qualification, such as a Dip Social Work or NVQ 4 in Social Care (with management components), and be registered with the appropriate authority, where applicable.
- You will have knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- You may also have knowledge of the processes and procedures of an emergency response team.
Working Arrangements
This is an ad-hoc contract, and you will be required to cover out-of-hours shifts. You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area, so you must have a full, valid driving license and regular access to a vehicle or alternative means of transportation.
