Emergency Response Officer

About the Role
As an Emergency Response Officer with South Gloucestershire Council, you will play a vital role in enabling residents to remain living independently in their own homes. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate a rapid response service, ensuring the efficient provision of emergency and urgent personal care welfare visits to residents in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, assess, and implement emergency personal care packages for new and existing service users, promoting independence and delivering a high standard of personalized care.
- Coordinate an immediate response to Telecare and Carer's emergencies, utilizing your specialist knowledge, skills, and experience to respond to complex situations.
- Assess service users with complex needs in emergency situations out of hours, compiling and implementing short-term care packages to be reviewed by the appropriate daytime services.
- Ensure that all responders in your team have a Care Certificate where necessary and that all are up to date with supervisions, team meetings, and training.
Requirements
- You must have a recognized and relevant professional qualification, such as a Dip Social Work, NVQ 4 in Social Care (with management components), and be registered with the appropriate authority where applicable.
- You will have knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- You may also have knowledge of the processes and procedures of an emergency response team.
Working Arrangements
This is an out-of-hours post that works on a four-week rolling rota, with varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area, so a full valid driving license with regular access to a vehicle or alternative appropriate means of travel is required.
