Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support students' SEMH needs, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour support plans, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of SEMH strategies and interventions, staying up-to-date with best practices in the field.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role, with a strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
