Job Opportunity: SEND Teaching Assistant in SEMH Provision

**Job Type:** Temporary, Full-Time (with potential for permanence)

**Salary:** £85 - £100 Per day

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to a student with Special Educational Needs and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a specialist provision.
  • Implement individualized education plans and behavior management strategies to promote student success.
  • Contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters social skills and emotional regulation.
  • Manage challenging behavior effectively and de-escalate situations when necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behavior.
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures.
Key Skills and Qualities:
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging situations.
Working Conditions:
  • Work primarily within a school setting, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Full-time hours with occasional flexibility required.
  • Regular interaction with students, teachers, and other educational professionals.
