Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Deliver Tailored Lessons: Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEND, ensuring they receive a high-quality education that meets their unique requirements.
  • Collaborate with Support Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals to provide a comprehensive support system for each student, ensuring they receive the best possible care and education.
  • Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes both academic and personal growth, encouraging students to reach their full potential.
  • Assess and Track Student Progress: Regularly assess and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to ensure all students can succeed and make progress.
  • Liaise with Parents and Carers: Communicate regularly with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns they may have.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Hold a recognized teaching qualification, such as QTS, and have a strong understanding of SEND education.
  • Experience Working with SEND: Have proven experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities, with a strong ability to differentiate lessons and provide individualized support.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding: Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices.
