Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies to support students' academic and social development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH needs.
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or higher.
- Additional training in areas such as autism awareness or mental health first aid.
- Work primarily within a school setting.
- May involve some physical activity and emotional support for students.
- Collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
