Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant with SEMH Expertise

**Job Type:** Temporary, Full-Time hours

**Primary Industry:** Education and Training

**Salary:** £85 Per day

**Benefits:** £50 referral fee

Job Duties:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, promoting their academic and social development.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a tailored support plan for each student.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, providing regular updates to the teaching team.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN and SEMH needs, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of SEN and SEMH conditions, including effective support strategies and interventions.
  • Experience implementing behaviour management techniques, with a focus on de-escalation and crisis prevention.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students, prioritizing their well-being and academic success.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or higher.
  • Additional training in areas such as autism awareness or mental health first aid, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Working Conditions:
  • Work primarily within a school setting, with the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives.
  • May involve some physical activity and emotional support for students, requiring a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience.
  • Collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals, promoting a cohesive and supportive team environment.
